Another Capitol rioter, who participated on January 6 in the attack on Congress, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a misdemeanor and unlawful protesting in a restricted area.
Dawn Bancroft, a Pennsylvania woman who was one of the mob on January 6 and said she was looking for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) “to shoot her in the friggin’ brain,” pleaded guilty in D.C. District Court. Her statement was caught in a video selfie, which was submitted to the court as evidence.
“That’s really troubling. It’s horrible. It’s outrageous,” District Judge Emmet Sullivan said. “Does it not rise to the level of a threat?”
“We’re going to talk about that more at sentencing,” Sullivan went on. “I understand you were leaving the Capitol. I understand the government’s logic in not prosecuting you … but I don’t want to, in any way, minimize the very troubling nature of a pretty outrageous statement.”
