Trump Aide Hope Hicks: ‘We All Look Like Domestic Terrorists Now In Texts on January 6

Former White House aid Hope Hicks texted a fellow assistant, “we all look like domestic terrorists now,” while insurrectionists stormed the U,S. Capitol on January 6.

The texts were released by the House select committee investigating the Capitol riots.

According to the committee, Hicks, then-counselor to the President, was texting Julie Radford. Radford worked as chief of staff to Ivanka Trump

“In one day he ended every future opportunity that doesn’t include speaking engagements at the local proud boys chapter,” Hicks said in a text.

“Yup,” Radford responded.

The two lamented their future job prospects as insurrectionists violently clashed with police at the Capitol.

“And all of us that didn’t have jobs lined up will be perpetually unemployed… We all look like domestic terrorists now,” Hick’s texts read.

The strategists also discussed Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former White House Director of Strategic Communications who had resigned before the insurrection.

“Not being dramatic, but we are all fucked. Alyssa looks like a genius,” Hicks texted.

Griffin had resigned a month earlier as Donald Trump doubled down on the lie that he won the 2020 election. She has been a staunch opponent of Trump since her resignation.

Hicks has been one of the central figures in the January 6 committee’s findings about the White House’s involvement in the insurrection. She testified to the committee about conversations with Trump after the attack.

“I think he felt like it wasn’t fair — the response to it wasn’t fair,” she claimed to the committee.
