After a thorough investigation into the Capitol Riot, a far-right activist Anthime Gionet has pleaded guilty to the charges against him related to the January 6 insurrection.
On social media, Gionet, known as “Baked Alaska,” has been open about his antisemitic and racist views.
Gionet has been charged with a misdemeanor count of parading, demonstrating, or picketing inside a Capitol building. He has pleaded guilty to the charge and could face up to half a year in prison.
In an earlier hearing, Gionet was reluctant to plead guilty but changed his mind later.

During his guilty plea, the judge presiding over the case, Emmet Sullivan, was notified that a protestor was recording the trial with a telephone.
In response, the telephone line was shut off while Gionet pled guilty to the crimes.
Prior to the riot, Gionet posted videos of himself trolling political opponents and harassing others whom he deemed to be liberals. As his following grew, he was at one point invited to speak at the infamous “Unite the Right” rally.
Gionet’s sentencing will be on January 12, 2023.
