Caitlyn Jenner Says Wealthy Californians Are Moving To Avoid Seeing The Homeless

Caitlyn Jenner, a Republican candidate for California governor, said on Wednesday that her wealthy friends are leaving the state in order to avoid seeing homeless people.

Jenner made this statement in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, marking her first major media appearance since announcing her gubernatorial bid last month.

“My friends are leaving California,” Jenner said. “Actually, my hangar, the guy across … he was packing up his hangar. I said, ‘Where are you going?’ And he says, ‘I’m moving to Sedona, Arizona. I can’t take it anymore. I can’t walk down the streets and see the homeless.’ I don’t want to leave. Either I stay and fight, or I get out of here.”

After her interview, Jenner’s remarks were criticized on social media, as many felt her complaints were tone-deaf and would harm her campaign efforts.

Nonetheless, Jenner does not appear to be shying away from controversy. She also praised former President Donald Trump in her interview with Hannity, calling him a “disrupter” who “shook the system up.”

Jenner also stated that she is “all for the [U.S. border] wall” that Trump promised to continue work on building it.

Jenner announced last week that she is opposed to female transgender athletes (like herself) competing on all-girls school sports teams, telling TMZ: “It just isn’t fair, and we have to protect girls sports in our schools.”

In a campaign video released on Monday, Jenner showcased her own athletic achievements and transgender activism. In her video, she stated: “California was once the envy of the world. We had what everybody else wanted. The American Dream grew up here. Yet career politicians and their policies have destroyed that dream.”
