Former Trump national security adviser John Bolton has asked GOP lawmakers to “acknowledge the reality” that Joe Biden is the President-elect.
He said that despite Republicans “not liking” Biden’s victory in the presidential election race, Biden deserves to receive a peaceful transition from the Trump administration and proper preparation for his future White House position.
Bolton added that a president who prioritized the needs of the country would not refuse to concede with the election results.
In an effort to encourage GOP leaders to publicly speak out against President Donald Trump‘s efforts to invalidate the election’s outcome, Bolton commented, “All I’m saying is that showing disagreement with the president is not fatal to your political future. I’m not asking anybody to climb Mount Suribachi and plant the American flag on top of it.”
