Bill Barr Says Maria Bartiromo Screamed At Him Over Trump’s Election Fraud Claims: ‘She’s Lost It’

Former United States Attorney General Bill Barr reportedly got into a shouting match with Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo over the Department of Justice’s refusal to pursue former President Donald Trump‘s allegations of voter fraud in the 2020 election, according to excerpts from ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl‘s new book, Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show, that was published on Tuesday.

Well before the first votes were cast last November, Trump began peddling baseless assertions that the election was rife with fraud and that it was somehow manipulated by the Democratic Party, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Justice, Dominion Voting Systems, China, undocumented immigrants, dead people and even then-candidate Joe Biden to rig the contest against him.

“She called me up and she was screaming,” Barr recalled to Karl of Bartiromo, who anchors Mornings With Maria, one of Trump’s favorite daytime shows that he would call into to have his conspiracy theories validated.

“I yelled back at her,” Barr added. “She’s lost it.”

But the Fox News family has denied Barr’s account, telling Karl through a spokesperson that “Maria Bartiromo denied these allegations noting it was Barr who was aggressive with her, yelling and cursing during the call.”

Nevertheless, Bartiromo enabled Trump to promulgate his stories on the air for millions of people to absorb. In some instances, she personally repeated them.

When Fox News declared Biden the winner in Arizona on November 3, and subsequently the presidency on November 7, Trump went absolutely ballistic. He vowed to not only challenge the results of the election but to do whatever it took to overturn the election.

To date, no evidence has emerged to support Trump’s claims, which culminated in him inciting the riot at the Capitol on January 6 that left five people dead and nearly disrupted the congressional certification of Biden’s landslide victory in the Electoral College.
