On Wednesday afternoon, former Vice President Joe Biden won the state of Wisconsin after a narrow victory over President Donald Trump for its 10 electoral votes. With Biden winning 49.57% of the votes and Trump getting 48.94%, a razor-thin margin of only about 20,000 votes separating the two, major networks called the state for Biden.
Trump’s campaign manager announced that the president will “immediately” be requesting a vote recount. Wisconsin went to Trump in 2016, also by a small margin of votes. Trump’s campaign has filed a lawsuit in Michigan as well, stating that locations of ballot counting need to be released, and the counting of ballots needs to be halted until the campaign has “meaningful access” and the opportunity to review ballots.
Michigan and Nevada, where Biden is only slightly ahead, have not been called yet. Trump currently leads in Georgia and North Carolina, but Biden is narrowing the margins there as well.
Pennsylvania, another Trump-led state, continues to count mail-in ballots, which have been favoring Biden.

Arizona has been called by the Associated Press for Biden.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) has stated that the president’s claims of victory are not accurate due to unfinished vote counting.
“Claiming you’ve won the election is different from finishing the counting,” McConnell said. “You should not be shocked that both sides are going to have lawyers there. That’s the way we do it in this country.”
