Biden Wins Michigan, 6 Electoral Votes Away From Presidency

On Wednesday afternoon, former Vice President Joe Biden was declared the winner of the state of Michigan and its 16 electoral votes, landing him at a current total of 264 electoral votes – 6 short of the 270 needed to be elected president. Trump currently sits at 214 electoral votes.

In 2016, Michigan supported President Donald Trump, as did Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. While Wisconsin has also shifted its votes to Biden, Pennsylvania’s outcome still has yet to be called. Nevada, which voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016, currently has Biden in the lead, but has also not yet been called.
