Democratic front runner Joe Biden‘s campaign team issued a red-alert memorandum to media outlets last week urging them to exercise caution while reporting on the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.
The caveat states there is “no evidence” behind unproven claims and conspiracies theories that Trump has put forward.
Trump pushed “a malicious and conclusively debunked conspiracy theory” about Biden, Deputy Campaign Manager, Kate Bedingfield, and Senior Campaign Adviser, Tony Blinken, stated.
The two reiterated that Trump’s statements about Biden had no evidence behind it.

The memo also informs the media outlets that they must clearly state that authoritative sources have disproven the conspiracy theories.
“To fail to make clear that the conspiracy theory and false accusations about Joe Biden have been comprehensively disproven, to artificially prop-up these egregious lies based on the ‘principle’ that if partisans make accusations, they have to be treated as legitimate regardless of the facts, is to make you an enabler of misinformation,” the memo read.
