At Normandy Cemetery, Trump Attacks “Nasty, Vindictive, Horrible” Pelosi

During the D-Day memorial service at the American cemetery at Normandy, President Donald Trump took aim at two of his political rivals, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former FBI director Robert Mueller.

During a Fox News interview immediately before his speech in honor of the 75th anniversary of the landings at Normandy, Trump attacked Pelosi by an original epithet coined by the president: “Nervous Nancy.” The comments came in response to a statement Pelosi made saying that more than seeing Trump impeached, she wants to see him “in prison.”

“I think she’s a disgrace. I don’t think she’s a talented person… Nancy Pelosi is a disaster, ok? She’s a disaster,” Trump said. “Let her do what she wants, you know what? I think they’re in big trouble.”

Trump quickly shifted to criticize Special Counsel Mueller himself, saying he had made “such a fool out of himself” during the investigation into alleged crimes committed during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Mueller decided against charging Trump with any criminal charges due to a DOJ policy of not indicting a sitting president. Trump claimed that the investigation was political and conducted by “Democrats” who were “totally biased against me.”

SLIDESHOW: TOP DEMOCRATS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT IN 2020

In the interview, Trump referred to a “letter” which Mueller required to “straighten out his testimony,” an apparent reference to a joint statement issued by the DOJ and Robert Mueller’s office meant to synthesize Mueller’s statement with Attorney General William Barr‘s comments that the decision to not charge the president was based on the facts of the case, not just DOJ policy.

When asked about the Trump administration’s implementation of tariffs and the possibility of impeaching president trump, Pelosi refused to comment, saying; “I don’t talk about the president while I’m out of the country. That’s my principle.”
