The leader of the Wisconsin Assembly’s election committee said last week that the 2020 election results in the state, which went to President Joe Biden, should be declared void.

“Fair and honest elections are the cornerstone of our democracy and we know that the 2020 presidential election was neither fair, nor transparent,” state Rep. Janel Brandtjen (R) wrote in a statement. “Tyranny is at Wisconsin’s door.”

State Rep. Tim Ramthun (R), who is currently running for governor, is heading the efforts to decertify the election results. Ramthun is a supporter of former President Donald Trump‘s insistence of widespread election fraud, though multiple investigations have not found evidence of that. Legal experts say that there is no constitutional way to void the results.

In 2020, Biden won Wisconsin by 20,000 votes. After multiple recounts, the results were confirmed.

“When the ballot drop boxes were used illegally, anything and all things that went into them made them null and void the moment they went into the box,” Ramthun said.
