A Third Of Republicans Believe Trump Will Be ‘Reinstated’ To Presidency This Fall
Nearly one-third of Republicans think that former President Donald Trump will return to the Oval Office later this year.
The Politico-Morning Consult poll was conducted between June 4 and 7 with 1,990 registered voters – including Democrats, Republicans and Independents – answering a series of questions. Eighty-four percent of Democrats and 70% of Independents believe Trump will not be returning to office. Although more than two-thirds of the respondents reject the possibility of reinstatement, nearly 30% of Republican participants believed that Trump will be president again in the fall.
Trump continues to push conspiracy theories, including false claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged as well that he will return to office as president.
Trump retains a tight grip on the Republican party. Nearly 60% of Republican participants hope to see Trump playing a big role in the party in the future and a majority of the GOP wants to see Trump running for office again in the 2024 presidential election.
