President Donald Trump took the stage last week and attacked his 2020 presidential rival Joe Biden‘s mental state.

Biden’s recent resurgence in the Democratic primaries have worried Trump and his campaign, who see the former vice president as their strongest rival in the general election.

Trump cited verbal Biden’s slip-ups to question to whether Biden had the mental capacity to compete in the general election.

“There’s something going on there,” Trump, 73, said to a riveted crowd of supporters, who erupted in laughter after Trump told them that Biden, 77, had claimed that he was running for Senate in late February.

Trump also pointed to a Biden comment that gun violence had killed over 150 million U.S. citizens since 2007. 

Trump then granted the audience permission to leak his comments to the media, stating in a caustic tone, “I hope that you do not repeat that.”

The president continued the onslaught on social media, posting of clips featuring Biden’s gaffes.
