Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tennessee) suggested Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman was unpatriotic for testifying during the House impeachment inquiry. The Iraq War veteran and Purple Heart recipient listened in on the July 25 phone call between President Donald Trump and the president of Ukraine that sparked the impeachment. "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see where the gain would be for the president in investigating the son of a political opponent," Vindman said during his deposition. Vindman's legal team fired back at Blackburn's comment. "This difficult moment in our country calls for seriousness and seriousness of purpose," one of Vindman's lawyers, David Pressman, said in a statement obtained by Fox News. "Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman has sacrificed enormously for our country. He believes in our country. And he believes in our country’s great institutions, including the United States Senate."
