Trump Says Biden Is Running As “Reclamation Project” For “Unsalvageable” Obama Presidency

President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Saturday morning to lambaste former vice president Joe Biden. In the rambling post, the president accused Biden of attempting to win the presidency as part of a “reclamation project” for the Obama administration, a period Trump also labeled as “unsalvageable.”

Trump also claimed that “China and other countries that ripped us off for years are begging for him” and that Biden “deserted our military, our law enforcement and our healthcare” and that he “added more debt than all other Presidents combined” though it is unclear if he was referring to Biden himself or to the Obama administration in which he served.

The tweet came a day after Biden referred to the president as a “schoolyard bully” whom he wanted to “smack in the mouth.” “He’s the bully that I knew my whole life. He’s the bully that I’ve always stood up to. He’s the bully that used to make fun when I was a kid and had a stutter,” Biden said bluntly, adding that he was eager to take on Trump in a debate.

These kinds of attacks are a preview of what is sure to be an all-out war for the presidency in 2020. Biden leads in the polls for Democratic nominee, and early hypothetical polls show Biden and the other three Democratic front-runners; Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, as beating Trump in one-to-one matchups.
