Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden‘s campaign has launched its first television advertisement that featured Cindy McCain, the widow of Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona).

The ad sought to win support from independents and moderate Republicans in battleground states in the November election.

In the ad, McCain advocated for Biden as a leader that could cross party lines to unite the nation and further described the nominee’s friendship with her late husband.

She said Biden would “always fight for America just like John did.”

“Now more than ever, the nation needs a president who will respect the sacrifices made by our service members and their families, a president who’ll honor our fallen heroes and a president who will bring out the best in us, not the worst,” McCain added.
