Vice President Mike Pence’s Staff Hit With New COVID-19 Cases

On Saturday, Vice President Mike Pence‘s chief of staff Marc Short tested positive for the coronavirus.

Despite coming in contact with a close staff member who tested positive, Pence will continue to headline campaign events with only a little over a week before the November election.

Pence’s office has acknowledged that the vice president is considered a “close contact” with Short.

Pence’s press secretary Devin O’Malley announced that Pence “will maintain his schedule in accordance with the CDC guidelines for essential personnel.”

“Vice President Pence and Mrs. Pence both tested negative for COVID-19 today, and remain in good health,” he added.

The vice president is expected to travel to the states of North Carolina and Wisconsin this week as last attempts to sway voters to re-elect President Donald Trump for another term.

Pence has decided to not quarantine himself and to continue embarking on his campaign schedule despite being the leader of the White House’s coronavirus task force.
