The U.S. Senate confirmed Trump nominee Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court on Monday night.
Senators voted 52-48 on nomination. Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) voted with the Democrats and against the confirmation.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) has been pushing for confirmations of all of President Donald Trump‘s conservative judicial nominees.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) commented, “I think the voters are very much paying attention. I think defending the Constitution and the Bill of Rights is incredibly important, possibly the most important issue in the election.”
