On August 31, President Donald Trump claimed that Democratic party nominee Joe Biden was being controlled by “people in dark shadows” in a Fox News interview.

“Who is pulling Biden’s strings? Is it the Obama people?” interviewer Laura Ingraham asked.

“People you’ve never heard of, people that are in the dark shadows,” Trump said.

Ingraham pressed further by asking, “What does that even mean? Dark Shadows? What is that?”

Trump gave a seemingly vague reply.  “I’ll tell you some time. It’s under investigation right now,” he said.

Later in the interview, Trump called Black Lives Matter a “Marxist organization” and compared police brutality to missing a three-foot putt in a golf tournament.

Ingraham reminded the president: “You’re not comparing it to golf. Because of course that’s what the media would say.”

Democrats have since taken to Twitter to comment on the president’s remarks. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-New York), tweeted, “You know things are bad when Laura Ingraham has to save President Trump from saying stupid things.”
