Olivia Troye, Vice President Mike Pence‘s former COVID-19 adviser, detailed conversations where White House staff discussed scenarios where President Donald Trump refusing to leave the office.
The staff allegedly held “closed-door conversations” while Troye worked on the coronavirus task force.
Recently, Trump declined to say if he would accept a peaceful transition of power if he were voted out of office. The president has also had a history of jokingly stating that he would serve beyond his term limit.
In an interview with CNN, Troye explained, “The president when he’s joking, if he says that he’s joking, he’s telling you a half-truth. And in there is something fairly frightening and scary.”

Troye and the Trump administration have been feuding in the public spotlight ever since Troye appeared in an ad dissing Trump for prioritizing his campaign over the pandemic.
