Beto O’Rourke, the charismatic Democrat presidential candidate, has called for President Donald Trump’s resignation. As the House impeachment effort gathers momentum, Rourke believes the president should follow in the footsteps of Richard Nixon and step down before being impeached by the House. As the Ukraine scandal seems to grow hour by hour, Rourke said Trump should quit for the nation’s sake as it has been riven by a toxic political climate. “Donald Trump is a thug, who’s acting like a mob boss,” O’Rourke tweeted.
In light of Trump’s telephone call with the Ukrainian president in which he pressured him to investigate Joe Biden, Rourke and an overwhelming majority of Democrats in Congress think Trump has violated the sanctity of the electoral process.

Rourke has compared Trump’s Ukraine scandal to Watergate. The Texan Democrat has called upon Trump’s inner circle to counsel him to resign before matters get worse for him. Trump has called for punitive measures against the whistleblower, whom he has disparaged as a “spy.”
