President Donald Trump signed an executive order to begin dismantling the Department of Education on Thursday. “Closing the Department of Education would provide children and their families the opportunity to escape a system that is failing them,” the executive order read. In footage published by Margo Martin, special assistant to the president, Trump can be seen signing the order while surrounded by children, who appear to be signing documents.
