Sen. Cory Booker (D-New Jersey) held the Senate floor with a historic speech that lasted all Monday night and into Tuesday evening over the Trump administration’s “grave and urgent” threat to the country. The 55-year-old senator finished speaking about 25 hours later, setting the record for the longest continuous Senate floor speech in the chamber’s history. The previous record was set by segregationist Strom Thurmond in 1957 when he spoke against the Civil Rights Act of 1957 for 24 hours and 18 minutes. (Credit: CSPAN via Storyful)
