Elon Musk visited Department of Defense officials at the Pentagon on Friday. Leaked information before the meeting sparked controversy over Musk’s access to sensitive government information involving China. In a video posted to X by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Musk is seen walking the halls of the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and meeting with Hegseth and other DoD officials. Hegseth praised Musk in the post, saying, “He is a patriot, and I look forward to continuing our work together.” The day before the meeting, The New York Times, citing unnamed officials, reported that Musk would receive a briefing on US plans for any potential conflict with China, which would involve some of the military’s most closely guarded secrets. Musk’s companies work regularly with Chinese officials, raising questions about possible conflicts of interest and security concerns. President Donald Trump denied that Musk would discuss China in the meeting. (Credit: Pete Hegseth via Storyful)
