US Marines were deployed to build migrant detention facilities at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba. In footage released by the Department of Defense on Tuesday, Marines are seen erecting tents and reinforcing fences. Photos released by the DOD show more recent images of the tent installations, indicating the extent of the new detention facilities built on the base. As of Feb. 18, more than 120 “criminal aliens” were detained at Guantanamo Bay, and an additional 50 migrants were housed in detention quarters for nonviolent individuals.
