Only 12 hours after he was taken off 24/7 suicide watch, Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City. Almost immediately after, conspiracy theories began to fly, with influential figures in the Trump administration and even President Donald Trump himself peddling false rumors as fact.
WATCH BETO TAKEDOWN TRUMP:
In a Twitter post on Saturday, Terrence K. Williams, a comedian and conservative commentator, posted a video in which he alleges that Epstein’s death was tied to the Clintons, hinting that Epstein may have been murdered. Trump retweeted the post. Another retweeted post alleged that unsealed documents revealed, “top Democrats, including Bill Clinton, took private trips to Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘pedophilia island.'” Both Bill Clinton and Trump were known to have been acquainted with Epstein.
While most presidents refrain from commenting on past presidents, Trump has habitually peddled conspiracy theories targeting the Clintons and Barack Obama, including that latter was not really a U.S. citizen.
