Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has taken the lead over former President Donald Trump in New Hampshire, according to a new poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire.
DeSantis came in with 39% of the votes compared to Trump’s 37%. Trump’s Vice President Mike Pence came in at a distant third with just 9% support.
The reason why a poll from New Hampshire is significant is that last fall, the same poll was taken. In that poll, Trump was in the lead with 43% to DeSantis’ 18%. The Florida Republican saw a huge jump in less than a year.
The poll revealed that just 6 in 10 Republicans want Trump to run again in 2024.
