Democratic candidate John Fetterman is leading Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz in the contentious Pennsylvania Senate race according to early poll results by USA Today Network/Suffolk University poll.

Fetterman currently holds a nine-point lead with 46% of the vote in comparison to Oz’s 37% to succeed retiring Sen. Pat Toomey (R). Former President Donald Trump-backed Oz narrowly beat ex-hedge fund CEO David McCormick for the GOP nomination.

Thirteen percent of voters remain undecided.

The poll also reported that the economy was the most important issue voters considered when making their choice in who to vote for. Gun control came in second.

Pennylvannia’s races will be among the most closely watched in the nation. The gubernatorial race is even more competitive with polls showing State Attorney Gen. Josh Shapiro (D) leading far-right opponent state Sen. Doug Mastriano by just four points, which falls in the poll’s margin of error.
