Biden Scores 63% Approval Rating Among College-Aged Americans

President Joe Biden has an approval rating of 63% among college-aged adults according to the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics. The new figure is the highest approval rating Harvard has recorded, even surpassing former President George W. Bush‘s post 9/11 highs.

The poll surveyed 2,513 Americans aged 18-29 from March 9 through 22. Beyond his general approval rating, those polled also were favorable toward Biden’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, 65%, and 57% approved of Biden’s early handling of race relations.

Biden received even higher approval among minorities polled with 77% of black voters and 70% of Hispanic voters approving of Biden’s job in the White House.

Biden has remained vigilant on issues affecting racial minority Americans and recently commended the Chauvin murder trial verdict.

“We can’t leave this moment or look away thinking our work is done,” Biden said in the White House Tuesday. “We have to listen, ‘I can’t breathe. I can’t breathe.’ Those were George Floyd’s last words. We can’t let those words die with him.”

“We must not turn away, we can’t turn away. We have a chance to begin to change the trajectory in this country. It’s my hope and prayer that we live up to the legacy,” Biden added. “This can be a moment of significant change.”
