A poll released early Monday morning shows Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minnesota) surging to third place in New Hampshire.
The survey, conducted by Emerson College between Feb. 8 and 9, found Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) leading comfortably at 30%, followed by former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 23%. It then shows Klobuchar edging out Elizabeth Warren with 14%, compared to the Massachusetts senator’s 11%. Joe Biden trails the pack in fifth with 10%.
The director of Emerson College Polling, Spencer Kimball, said that third place is still up for grabs between Klobuchar, Warren and Biden.
“While Sanders has a lead going into the election, Buttigieg has closed the gap and could still pull off a New Hampshire surprise, as he and Sanders are within the margin of error,” Kimball said. “Klobuchar continues to move up, but she still trails the top two candidates by a significant margin. Warren and Biden could still get as high as third but today’s data had them going in the wrong direction.”
