Trump Reiterates Promise of Border Wall (Aug. 27, 2017)
Since the early weeks of his candidacy, Trump promised to build a wall across the southern border as part of his immigration plan, and has said Mexico will pay for said wall given its “highest crime” levels. He even threatened to shut down the government if the wall isn’t built.
Nevertheless, such a wall has yet to begin being constructed. Two of Mexico’s former Presidents, Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderon, have already said along with current President Enrique Peña Nieto (pictured here) that the country refuses to reimburse the U.S. for the wall’s construction.
