With 18,000 People, Harris-Walz Rally Reaches Capacity In Las Vegas

A Nevada Harris-Walz rally reached the venue’s maximum capacity on Saturday.

The rally held at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas was flooded with supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris (D) and her new running mate and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D). The venue, which can hold around 18,000 people, reached its maximum capacity for the event, which led to attendees being turned away. An estimated 4,000 people were turned away from the event by local law enforcement.

Harris addressed the voters who were unable to attend the rally during her speech, telling them, “Don’t worry, we’re going to be back a lot.”

While in line, numerous attendees shouted in support of Harris and Walz while speaking to local press about the issues that made them align with the Harris-Walz campaign.

While Harris spoke to the packed crowd, she warned them of the close results many are expecting from this election.

“We have 87 days until the election,” Harris said. “We know this will be a tight race until the very end.”

Harris has made seven trips to Nevada this year, but this was the first one as the new Democratic presidential nominee following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race.

On social media, Harris posted about how their campaign is “a fight for the future” and shared a clip from the high-energy rally.

The current tour for Harris and Walz is made up of six key battleground states. This tour is designed to introduce Walz to the battleground state voters after becoming Harris’ running mate.

Numerous Nevada Democrats also joined the rally, including five Congressional Democrats from the state.

Crowd size has become an issue for both parties after a rally for former President Donald Trump reached its capacity of 10,000 in Bozeman, Montana, on Friday, according to the Trump campaign.
