William Barr Asked Rupert Murdoch To ‘Muzzle’ Fox News’ Legal Expert Andrew Napolitano, A Harsh Trump Critic
Attorney General William Barr allegedly asked News Corp founder Rupert Murdoch to “muzzle” Fox News commentator Andrew Napolitano at a meeting last year, according to Hoax: Donald Trump, Fox News, and the Dangerous Distortion of Truth, a new book released this week written by CNN’s Brian Stelter.
Napolitano is a Fox News commentator who has been an avid critic of President Donald Trump.
Recently, Napolitano also criticized Trump for his administration’s poor handling of problems like George Floyd protests and the coronavirus pandemic across the country.
Prior to the book’s release, The Guardian reported that Stelter, citing an anonymous source, wrote that Trump “implored Barr to send Rupert a message in person about ‘muzzling the judge.”

Barr and Murdoch reportedly had a brief conversation in 2019. At that time, when their meeting was reported, the details on their discussion remained unclear.
Throughout the book, Stelter also argues that Trump is “shadow producer” to Fox News host Sean Hannity.
