Criticism was heaped on former President Donald Trump after he hosted rapper Kanye West, who now goes by Ye, and white supremacist Nick Fuentes for dinner at his Mar-a-Lago residence last week, but now Fuentes appears to have turned on Trump.
“What are Christian Americans going to get out of a McCarthy speakership or new Trump White House?” Fuentes wrote on Telegram. “Lower gas prices? Reduce the corporate tax rate? Years will pass us by as things remain fundamentally the same. We must dream bigger.”
Trump on Saturday claimed that he did not know who Fuentes was. He said that he was trying to help Ye, who he called a “seriously troubled man,” and that Ye had brought Fuentes with him as his guest.
“So I help a seriously troubled man, who just happens to be black, Ye (Kanye West), who has been decimated in his business and virtually everything else and who has always been good to me, by allowing his request for a meeting at Mar-a-Lago, alone, so that I can give him very much needed ‘advice,'” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social. “He shows up with 3 people, two of which I didn’t know, the other a political person who I haven’t seen in years.”

Major names from both sides of the aisle condemned Trump for dining with West and Fuentes.
“President Trump hosting racist antisemites for dinner encourages other racist antisemites,” Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-Lousiana) wrote on Twitter. “These attitudes are immoral and should not be entertained. This is not the Republican Party.”
This comes after Trump announced his campaign for the White House in 2024 at a low-energy event earlier this month.
