White House Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy director Peter Navarro accused China of sending fake coronavirus testing kits to the U.S. – alleging that China is “profiteering” from the pandemic.
The trade adviser, who President Donald Trump appointed to handle supply-line issues that were related to the health crisis, has claimed that additional testing measures for the virus and related-antibodies are crucial to lifting coronavirus restrictions.
“That’s where, perhaps, we can find people who are immune that can be in the workplace in a more safe environment. But we can’t have China, for example, bringing in those fake tests and counterfeit tests, because that’s going to be very disruptive,” Navarro told Fox and Friends on Monday.
“There’s a lot of these antibody tests coming in from China now that are low quality, false readings and things like that,” Navarro continued.

Navarro asserted that China, where the coronavirus is believed to have its roots in the city of Wuhan, had spread the virus to the rest of the world after hiding it for “six weeks.”
He also claimed that during the time China had failed to disclose the information, the country “[had] vacuumed up the world for personal protective equipment.”
