Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton endorsed former Vice President and DNC probable nominee Joe Biden in a virtual town hall on Tuesday.
Clinton called Biden “a friend” and as someone who’s been “preparing for this moment his entire life.”
“I want to add my voice to the many who have endorsed you to be our president,” Clinton said, adding that “this is a moment where we need a leader, a president, like Joe Biden.”
Clinton said months ago that she would endorse the eventual Democratic nominee. “I’m just watching and hoping that we nominate whoever is the strongest candidate to take out the current incumbent,” Clinton said in March. “That’s the only thing that really matters at the end of the day.”

Still, her endorsement of Biden comes with no surprise. However, her endorsement boosted Biden’s campaign. Last election, Clinton won over 65 million votes and has been a profuse fundraiser throughout her career.
Brad Parscale, President Donald Trump‘s campaign manager, said of the endorsement, “There is no greater concentration of Democrat establishment than Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton together. President Trump beat her once and now he’ll beat her chosen candidate.”
Clinton is the latest of high-profile Democrats to endorse Biden. Previous endorsements include former President Barack Obama, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
