Watch: Fox News’s Tucker Carlson Berates Donald Trump & Jared Kushner For Handling Of Protests

After President Donald Trump about the violence of protesters, Fox News TV host Tucker Carlson attacked both the president and his son-in-law Jared Kushner for mishandling the national protests and letting them get out of control.

Carlson, who often defends the Trump Administration on his show, said that Kushner did not align with the beliefs of many Trump supporters and was hindering the president from providing a firm response.

Following violent clashes between protesters and the Secret Service in front of the White House on Friday, the Administration decided to temporarily turn off the lights leading the Trump family to shelter in an underground bunker amid safety concerns.

Carlson harshly criticized the president’s lack of protection for Fox News’s reporters. “If you can’t keep a Fox News correspondent from getting attacked directly across the street from your house, how can you protect my family?” Carlson mentioned on national television. “How are you going to protect the country? How are you trying?”

The TV commentator also lambasted Trump for his apparent selfishness. “On Twitter the next morning, the president reassured America that he and his family were just fine,” Carlson said. “The federally funded bodyguards had kept them safe. He did not mention protecting the rest of the nation, much of which was then on fire. He seemed aware only of himself.”

In a series of tweets published the day after Trump’s hiding from protesters, Carlson called for rigor and force, underscoring the Administration’s, and specifically Kushner’s, lack of concern for the seriousness of the events.

Along with his “key advisers,” Carlson said that Kushner did not seem to understand “the gravity of the moment,” especially in light of the upcoming elections.

“The first requirement of leadership is that you watch over the people in your care,” Carlson said, and “Jared Kushner, for one, has made that point out loud. No one has more contempt for Donald Trump’s voters than Jared Kushner does,” he concluded.
