Vivek Ramaswamy’s Speech At Trump’s Victory Party Ignites Vice Presidential Chatter

After dropping out of the presidential race last week, Vivek Ramaswamy returned to the spotlight on Tuesday night during former President Donald Trump‘s victory speech after the New Hampshire primary.

Trump gave him the mic but cautioned him not to take more than “60 seconds.”

Trump said of Ramaswamy, “A fantastic guy, a very smart guy. [He’s] got some tremendous ideas.”

The Republican primary is down to two serious contenders after the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary. Only former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley remains in the race.

Ramaswamy finished fourth in Iowa with only 7% of the vote and withdrew shortly afterward.

Ramaswamy, a tech and pharmaceutical entrepreneur and a newcomer to politics quickly threw his support behind Trump. He has been vocal in his support for Trump, so much so that the former president wondered, “Why is he even running? He keeps calling me a great president.”

At the New Hampshire rally, Ramaswamy maintained the energy and far-right platitudes of his own campaign by telling the crowd that most Republicans are “asleep at the switch, with their head in the sand. People who love this country and a fringe minority who hates this country and what we stand for.”

He left the stage to a riled-up crowd chanted, “V.P.! V.P.! V.P.!”

Ramaswamy has also made an appearance on Donald Trump Jr’s. podcast, Triggered, since the end of his candidacy, indicating that he intends to stay in the spotlight.
