A man who identified himself as a veteran was escorted out Republican Rep. Chuck Edwards’ town hall meeting in Asheville, North Carolina, on March 13, after he shouted while Edwards made comments about voting for the House budget resolution. Local media reported that the man shouted that “the non-elected person running our government” was unaccountable, as well as, “Do your job. You’re lying. I’m a veteran and you don’t give a f— about me.” In footage, Edwards can be seen gesturing for law enforcement to remove the man from the room. Footage showed the attendee being escorted out by law enforcement while continuing to shout at the congressman. Other attendees in the hall are seen applauding during the confrontation. Protesters outside banging on the locked doors of the entrance to the Ferguson Auditorium hosting the town hall. More than 2,000 people gathered outside.
