President Donald Trump signed an executive order calling Feb. 9 as “Gulf of America Day” as he flew over the Gulf of Mexico en route to Super Bowl LIX. Footage released by Trump adviser Margo Martin shows the president sitting on Air Force One holding a pen, poised to sign the proclamation. “We are flying right over it right now,” Trump said. “So we thought this would be appropriate, even bigger than the Super Bowl, this is a big thing.” The pilot then declared over the loudspeaker that “Air Force One is currently in international waters, for the first time in history, flying over the recently renamed Gulf of America.” (Credit: Margo Martin via Storyful)
