Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R) emphatically rejected the idea of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in an exchange with members of the anti-war group Code Pink in Washington in November of 2023.
Members of Code Pink intercepted Rubio in the Russell Senate Office Building hallway on November 28, 2023, and asked if he would call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
“No, I will not, on the contrary. Are you filming it? I want you guys to get this,” Rubio said. “I want them to destroy every element of Hamas they can get their hands on. These people are vicious animals who did horrifying crimes, and I hope you guys post that.”
When asked about civilian casualties, in particular children, Rubio said he wholly blamed Hamas and its tactics.

“I care, I think it’s horrifying, and I think Hamas is 100 percent to blame,” Rubio said.
