Supporters of President Donald Trump cheered as he unveiled a sweeping set of tariffs on all foreign imports on April 2. “Today, we are standing up for the American worker, and we are finally putting America first,” Trump said. The new tariffs include a minimum baseline tax of 10 percent on all trading partners and further levies on specific countries such as China and EU members. Leading economists lined up to say the tariffs would put the global economy into recession and cost millions of jobs. (Credit: Margo Martin via Storyful)
