A large-scale Ukrainian drone attack struck more than 40 Russian warplanes, with some targets in Siberia, on June 1. Governor of the Irkutsk region in Siberia, Igor Kobzev, shared video to Telegram of large smoke plumes rising in the village of Sredniy. He said a military unit was struck in what is the first Ukrainian drone attack of this kind in Siberia. The drones were smuggled into Russia and that the targeted warplanes were heavy bombers in four separate airfields.
