Israeli’s Coordinator for the Hostages and the Missing, Gal Hirsch, stated that Israel is “deeply concerned” about the condition of the three hostages released by Hamas on Feb. 8. Their emaciated appearance shocked Israeli officials. In footage released by the Israeli Prime Minister, Hirsch said that “this will not go unaddressed; the message was conveyed to the mediators, and measures will be taken accordingly.” The three hostages, Or Levy, Ohad Ben-Ami, and Eliyahu Sharabi were initially handed over to the Red Cross before being accompanied back to Israel by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israel Security Agency (ISA) agents.
