A strike carried out by an Israeli military helicopter targeted makeshift tents for displaced people inside a hospital compound in central Gaza, according to several journalists at the scene and Gaza officials.
At least two people were killed and 26 were injured in the strike outside al-Aqsa Martyr’s Hospital in Deir al Balah, according to reports from local journalist Nahed Hajjaj and the Government Media Office in Gaza. Two journalists were among the wounded, the reports said.
Footage filmed by journalist Yosef Basam al-Saifi shows smoke billowing from burning tents as civil defense workers and other people rush to the scene.
Other videos from the area showed a helicopter flying overhead moments before an explosion and bloodied people being rushed away for medical treatment.

The Government Media Office in Gaza said it was the ninth time the Israel Defense Forces had struck tents outside the hospital since the beginning of the year.
The most recent strike on October 14 garnered international news coverage after graphic footage showed a teenager being burned alive as a tent was engulfed in flames. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they had targeted Hamas militants at the hospital.
The IDF had not commented on the Nov. 9 strike at the time of publication.
