US President-elect Donald Trump confirmed a deal has been reached in a post on his TruthSocial platform.
“This EPIC ceasefire agreement could have only happened as a result of our Historic Victory in November,” he wrote.

Israeli sources said they expected hostages who remain alive to be released by Hamas the following week, according to Israeli news reports.
