Bodycam footage released by the Department of Homeland Security shows the moment Ras Baraka, the mayor of Newark, New Jersey, was arrested outside an ICE facility in Newark on May 9, as numerous activist groups protested outside. In the footage, officers can be seen speaking to Baraka outside the facility, before detaining him as bystanders protest the arrest. Alina Habba, the Interim US Attorney, said Baraka had “committed trespass and ignored multiple warnings from Homeland Security Investigations to remove himself from the ICE detention center” in Newark. Those claims were disputed by other congress members in attendance and Baraka himself. (Credit: Department of Homeland Security via Storyful)
