Ukraine Army Destroys Russian Convoy Of 56 Tanks Near Kyiv

The Ukraine army destroyed a Russian convoy, comprised of 56 tanks near Kyiv on Saturday.

The attack reportedly killed the top Chechen general Magomed Tushayev, who was the leader of the 141 regiments of the Chechnya National Gaurd. The unofficial military force originated in Chechnya, Russia, and was seemingly enlisted by Russia to “capture and kill” Ukrainian leaders.

Each soldier was given a deck of cards with the face of Ukrainian leaders on them. The report follows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky‘s statement that he and his family were at the top of Russia’s hit list.

The convoy was targeted by Ukraine missiles near Hostomel. The death toll from the attack has not yet been confirmed, but sources say the number was in the hundreds.

Ukraine forces have been able to retain control of the country and major cities like Kyiv.

Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the orders to invade Ukraine last week after his goal of blocking Ukraine from joining NATO was not met. Putin’s goal in it is not yet known but the U.S. and other Western powers suspect that he wants to overthrow the Ukrainian government and replace it with Russian rule, effectively changing the landscape of Europe.

Multiple sources, including U.S. officials, say that Russia was not expecting the resistance they are seeing from Ukraine and that their advance is moving more slowly than hoped for. They also said that weapons may be used in a rash way if they do not meet their timeline.
