Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson announced plans to bring his controversial and popular show to Twitter. The announcement comes weeks after his ouster from Fox News.
Carlson posted a three-minute video to his Twitter account detailing his decision to create a new show.
“Starting soon, we’ll be doing a new version of the show that we’ve been doing for the last six and a half years to Twitter,” Carlson said. “We’ll bring you some other things, too, which we’ll tell you about. But for now, we’re just grateful to be here.”
“Amazingly that as of tonight, there aren’t many platforms left that allow free speech,” Carlson claimed in the video.

Carlson, a popular figurehead on the right, garnered record-setting television audiences during his time at Fox. The conservative host frequently used white nationalist theories to espouse racist ideologies about immigrants and civil rights leaders.
Fox News soared in the ratings during Carlson’s heyday – but the network soured on him after the $787.5 million libel suit with Dominion Voting Systems.
Fox News fired Carlson after a trove of text conversations was released during the trial. One text explained his reaction to a video of a fight outside the January 6 insurrection where a group of white men fought an “antifa kid.”
“It’s not how white men fight,” he said in the text.
Fox News has not commented on Carlson’s departure other than saying the two “agreed to part ways.”
Elon Musk, Twitter’s CEO, was one of the final guests on Carlson’s show on Fox. Musk has repeated that his takeover of Twitter was to aid free speech efforts in the U.S.
Carlson didn’t elaborate on the show’s expected release or length.
