Trump’s Vital Signs ‘Very Concerning’ After COVID-19 Diagnosis, Next 48 Hours ‘Crucial’

Following President Donald Trump‘s diagnosis with COVID-19, his vitals over the past 24 hours have been very concerning, and the next 48 hours will be crucial in terms of how his current condition progresses, a source familiar with his health told reporters on Saturday. The source also indicated that the president is still running a low fever on Saturday.

However, confusion surrounding conflicting reports from multiple sources raises questions about transparency, or rather, the lack thereof, with regards to Trump’s condition. On Saturday morning, White House physician, Dr. Sean Conley, gave a very optimistic debriefing on Trump’s current condition, expressing that he is now fever-free and his cough and congestion are “resolving and improving.” Dr. Conley also declined to say when Trump had his last negative COVID-19 test or how many people he may have exposed.

But other sources indicate that his condition might be more serious than Dr. Conley is making it out to be. Trump was apparently on supplemental oxygen on Friday, revealing the seriousness of his condition, although when asked, Dr. Conley neither confirmed nor denied that this was true, and rather stated that he was not on oxygen as of Saturday.

This is not the only point of confusion in terms of Trump’s COVID-19 experience. Not only is it unclear how serious his current condition is, eyebrows are raising over the speculative possibility that President Trump was not diagnosed Thursday, as per his Tweet, but rather on Wednesday. Dr. Conley said in a press conference Saturday that Trump is “just 72 hours into the diagnosis now,” which would indicate that the president received his diagnosis midday Wednesday. However, Dr. Conley has since retracted this statement and explained that he instead meant to say that he was on day three of the diagnosis, meaning that he was diagnosed Thursday.
